Ceftizoxime Sodium
The sodium salt form of ceftizoxime, used intravenously for the treatment of serious infections including pelvic inflammatory disease and certain types of meningitis. It provides the same broad-spectrum coverage as the parent compound with good activity against anaerobes. Standard precautions regarding cephalosporin hypersensitivity apply.

آلية العمل
Disrupts bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), inhibiting the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis. The resulting cell wall defects cause osmotic instability and bacteriolysis.
