Chromic Phosphate P 32
A radioactive form of chromic phosphate containing phosphorus-32 used as an intraperitoneal or intrapleural radiotherapy agent to treat malignant ascites and pleural effusions associated with cancers such as ovarian and certain lung cancers. The beta radiation emitted by P-32 destroys tumor cells lining the cavity. Careful instillation technique is required to achieve uniform distribution.
