Nuclear imaging of myocardial injury was the purpose of imciromab pentetate, a radiolabelled antibody fragment developed to bind cardiac myosin. Myosin becomes accessible only when the sarcolemma of a myocyte has been breached, so binding localises to regions of irreversible damage and marks infarcted territory on a scintigraphic image.
