This recombinant interferon gamma is used to reduce the frequency and severity of serious infections in patients with chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), a rare immune disorder affecting the ability of white blood cells to kill certain bacteria and fungi. It enhances the killing ability of immune cells. It is also used for severe malignant osteopetrosis.
