Dipyridamole
A medication that inhibits platelet aggregation and causes vasodilation, used in combination with aspirin to prevent stroke in patients with non-cardioembolic TIA or ischemic stroke, and intravenously as part of cardiac stress testing (pharmacological stress echocardiography or nuclear imaging). It works by inhibiting the phosphodiesterase enzyme that breaks down cyclic AMP. Headache is a very common side effect.
