Ioxaglic Acid
This iodinated contrast agent is a low-osmolality ionic compound (ionic dimer) used for intravascular procedures including coronary angiography and venography. Its lower osmolality compared to older ionic monomeric agents reduces cardiovascular stress and patient discomfort. It was among the first low-osmolality contrast agents developed.
