Rimonabant
Rimonabant is a selective cannabinoid CB1 receptor inverse agonist that blocks the endocannabinoid system's orexigenic (appetite-stimulating) and metabolic effects in both the hypothalamus and peripheral tissues, reducing food intake and improving metabolic parameters including obesity and dyslipidemia. It was withdrawn from the European market due to serious psychiatric adverse effects including depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation.
