Strontium Chloride
Strontium chloride is an inorganic strontium salt used as a precursor compound for the preparation of strontium chloride Sr-89, and investigationally as a bone-seeking mineral supplement for conditions of altered bone metabolism in breast and prostate cancer bone metastases. Strontium ions are chemical analogs of calcium and preferentially deposit in metabolically active bone, particularly at sites of osteoblastic activity. The non-radioactive form has also been used in desensitizing toothpastes for dentinal hypersensitivity.
