Teneligliptin
Teneligliptin is an oral dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that prevents the degradation of incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP, thereby enhancing glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppressing glucagon release, and improving glycemic control in type 2 diabetes. Its unique thiazolidine-based structure provides prolonged DPP-4 inhibition and is approved in Japan, South Korea, and India for type 2 diabetes management. It may have additional cardiovascular benefits through reduction of myocardial remodeling, making it of interest in heart failure research.
