Torsemide
This loop diuretic medication helps the kidneys remove excess fluid and salt from the body, and is used to treat fluid retention (edema) caused by heart failure, kidney disease, or liver cirrhosis, as well as high blood pressure. It acts on the kidney's loop of Henle to block sodium reabsorption, producing a strong diuretic effect. Potassium levels should be monitored as the medication can cause potassium loss.
