Trimetrexate Glucuronate
Trimetrexate glucuronate is the glucuronate salt of trimetrexate, a DHFR inhibitor with antifolate and antiprotozoal activity used in treating Pneumocystis pneumonia in AIDS patients who cannot tolerate standard therapy. It has also been investigated in the treatment of malignancies including colorectal cancer and leukemia due to its cytotoxic mechanism of folate pathway disruption. Leucovorin is co-administered to prevent host toxicity.
