Corticotropin
A hormone naturally produced by the pituitary gland that stimulates the adrenal glands to produce cortisol and other corticosteroids. As a medication, it is used to treat inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, infantile spasms, and to test adrenal gland function. Its effects are largely mediated through the cortisol it stimulates the body to produce.
