Cromolyn
A mast cell stabilizer that prevents the release of inflammatory chemicals such as histamine from immune cells in the airways and other tissues, used to prevent asthma attacks and allergic reactions. It is most effective when used regularly before exposure to known triggers rather than as a rescue medication. It is available as an inhaler, nasal spray, eye drops, and oral solution.
