Podophyllum Resin
Podophyllum resin is a complex mixture of cytotoxic compounds extracted from the Podophyllum plant species, with podophyllotoxin as the principal active constituent, that exerts antimitotic effects by binding to tubulin and inhibiting microtubule polymerization, arresting cell division in metaphase. It has been used topically as a caustic agent for the treatment of condylomata acuminata and other warts.
