Secretin Synthetic Porcine
Secretin synthetic porcine is a synthetic form of the porcine secretin hormone used as a diagnostic agent for pancreatic exocrine function assessment and gastrinoma diagnosis, with the porcine sequence differing from human secretin at position 15. It stimulates pancreatic acinar and ductal cell secretion via cAMP-mediated pathways, producing the characteristic bicarbonate-rich secretory response. It has largely been replaced by synthetic human secretin in clinical use.
