Susoctocog alfa is a recombinant porcine factor VIII (B-domain deleted) used for the treatment of acute bleeding episodes in adults with acquired hemophilia A, a rare autoimmune disorder in which patients develop inhibitory antibodies against endogenous factor VIII. The porcine origin of susoctocog alfa provides functional coagulation activity in patients whose antibodies have lower cross-reactivity to porcine versus human factor VIII. It restores normal hemostasis in patients unresponsive to human factor VIII replacement due to high-titer inhibitors.

Mecanismo de acción

As a recombinant protein, it replicates the function of the naturally occurring human protein, supplementing or replacing deficient endogenous production to restore normal physiological activity.
