Trovafloxacin mesylate is the mesylate salt of trovafloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic targeting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV with broad-spectrum activity. The mesylate salt form was used in the oral formulation of the drug. Due to severe hepatotoxicity associated with its use, it was withdrawn from most markets and its clinical use was severely restricted.
