Carboplatin
A platinum-based chemotherapy agent that works by crosslinking DNA strands, thereby inhibiting cancer cell replication and inducing cell death. It is used to treat several cancers including ovarian, lung, and head and neck cancers. Compared to its predecessor cisplatin, it generally has a more favorable side effect profile with less nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity.
