Ivabradine
This unique heart rate-lowering drug selectively inhibits the If current ("funny current") in the sinoatrial node of the heart, reducing heart rate without affecting blood pressure or cardiac contractility. It is used to treat stable angina and symptomatic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction in patients with elevated resting heart rate. It is particularly useful in patients who cannot tolerate beta-blockers.
