Vilanterol trifenatate is the triphenylacetate salt of vilanterol, an ultra-long-acting beta-2 agonist (LABA) used for maintenance therapy of asthma and COPD in combination with other agents. The trifenatate salt form is used in the inhaled powder formulations marketed for once-daily maintenance bronchodilation. Like the free base, it provides >24 hours of beta-2 receptor-mediated bronchial smooth muscle relaxation.
