Bexagliflozin
An SGLT2 inhibitor used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes by causing the kidneys to excrete excess glucose in the urine. It also has beneficial effects on blood pressure and body weight. Like other drugs in its class, it carries a risk of urinary and genital tract infections.

Selectively inhibits sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) in the proximal renal tubule, reducing glucose reabsorption and promoting urinary glucose excretion. This lowers blood glucose levels independently of insulin secretion.
