Radium Dichloride
Radium dichloride (radium-223 dichloride, Xofigo) is a targeted alpha-emitting radiopharmaceutical that, as a calcium mimetic, selectively incorporates into areas of increased bone turnover (osteoblastic metastases), delivering high-linear-energy-transfer alpha radiation to metastatic foci while minimizing systemic exposure. It is approved for the treatment of castration-resistant prostate cancer with symptomatic bone metastases and no known visceral metastatic disease.
