Verapamil
This calcium channel blocker is used to treat high blood pressure, certain heart rhythm disorders (including atrial fibrillation and supraventricular tachycardia), and angina (chest pain), and is also used to prevent migraine headaches and cluster headaches. It works by slowing the movement of calcium into heart and blood vessel muscle cells, causing the heart to beat more slowly and blood vessels to relax. It interacts with many medications, and grapefruit juice can increase its blood levels significantly.
