Carbenicillin Disodium
The disodium salt of carbenicillin, formulated for intravenous or intramuscular injection to treat serious infections caused by Pseudomonas and other susceptible gram-negative bacteria. Like carbenicillin, it disrupts bacterial cell wall construction. It has largely been superseded by newer extended-spectrum penicillins and other beta-lactam antibiotics.

Mekanisme Kerja
Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), preventing transpeptidation and cross-linking of peptidoglycan chains. This weakens the bacterial cell wall, leading to osmotic lysis and cell death.
