Riboflavin
Riboflavin (vitamin B2) is a water-soluble vitamin that is the precursor to the coenzymes flavin mononucleotide (FMN) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD), which are essential for oxidation-reduction reactions in cellular energy metabolism, fatty acid oxidation, and the electron transport chain. It is used therapeutically for riboflavin deficiency states, migraine prophylaxis at high doses, and corneal collagen cross-linking procedures.
