Acetazolamide Sodium
The injectable sodium salt form of acetazolamide, used when oral administration is not possible or a faster onset of action is needed. It has the same carbonic anhydrase inhibiting properties as oral acetazolamide and is used in acute glaucoma, intracranial hypertension, and certain fluid-overload conditions. Like the oral form, it increases urine output and can lower potassium levels with prolonged use.
