Iobenguane
This compound is a guanethidine analogue that, when labeled with radioactive iodine, is used for imaging or treating tumors of the adrenal medulla (pheochromocytoma) and related neuroendocrine tumors. It accumulates in these tumors due to active uptake by norepinephrine transporters. The radioactive form allows both diagnostic scanning and targeted radiation therapy.
