Sulfacarbamide
Sulfacarbamide (urea sulfate) is a sulfonamide compound combining sulfanilamide activity with urea properties, used historically as a topical antiseptic and in urinary tract infection treatment. As a sulfonamide, it competitively inhibits dihydropteroate synthase in susceptible bacteria, blocking folate synthesis. It has been largely replaced by more effective and better-characterized antimicrobial agents.
