Talimogene Laherparepvec
Talimogene laherparepvec (T-VEC) is an oncolytic immunotherapy derived from a modified herpes simplex virus type 1, engineered to selectively replicate in and destroy tumor cells while also expressing GM-CSF to stimulate systemic anti-tumor immunity. It is approved for intralesional treatment of unresectable cutaneous, subcutaneous, and nodal melanoma lesions, and is being investigated for other solid tumors including bladder and breast cancers. Its dual mechanism of direct oncolysis and immune activation makes it a unique cancer therapeutic.
