A water-soluble sodium succinate salt form of hydrocortisone used intravenously for acute treatment of severe inflammatory conditions, anaphylaxis, adrenal insufficiency, and exacerbations of asthma or COPD. This formulation dissolves readily for emergency parenteral administration when rapid corticosteroid effect is needed. It provides the same anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects as other hydrocortisone forms.
