Technetium lidofenin (99mTc-HIDA) is a hepatobiliary iminodiacetic acid (IDA) radiopharmaceutical that is extracted by hepatocytes and excreted in bile, allowing dynamic scintigraphic assessment of liver function and biliary drainage. It is used in hepatobiliary imaging for evaluation of acute cholecystitis, common bile duct obstruction, and biliary atresia. Dynamic acquisition of images over time characterizes the rate and pattern of biliary excretion.
