Empagliflozin and losartan can both reduce blood pressure and lower serum potassium/sodium; combined use may increase the risk of dehydration, hypotension, and electrolyte imbalance.
The combination of empagliflozin and hydrochlorothiazide can cause additive volume depletion and hypotension, and may also increase the risk of genital mycotic infections through shared glucosuria.
Combining empagliflozin with an ACE inhibitor such as ramipril can cause additive blood pressure reduction and volume depletion, increasing the risk of hypotension and acute kidney injury.
Both empagliflozin and furosemide promote natriuresis and diuresis; concurrent use can produce additive volume depletion, hypotension, and electrolyte disturbances.
