Imiquimod
This topical immune response modifier is used to treat certain viral skin conditions including genital warts (condyloma acuminata), superficial basal cell carcinoma, and actinic keratoses. It works by stimulating the local immune system to produce interferon and other cytokines, which attack the abnormal or virus-infected cells. It is applied directly to the skin and should not be used internally.
