Polidocanol
Polidocanol is a sclerosant agent and local anesthetic belonging to the fatty alcohol polyethylene oxide class that causes endothelial cell injury and subsequent fibrosis when injected into blood vessels or varicose veins. It is used for sclerotherapy of varicose veins, esophageal varices, and hemorrhoids, and has also been used topically as a mild local anesthetic for pruritis relief.
