Sincalide
Sincalide is a synthetic C-terminal octapeptide fragment of cholecystokinin (CCK) used diagnostically to stimulate gallbladder contraction for cholescintigraphy and to assess pancreatic exocrine function. By binding to CCK receptors in the gallbladder smooth muscle and pancreatic acinar cells, it mimics endogenous CCK-induced contraction and enzyme secretion. It enables dynamic assessment of gallbladder ejection fraction and pancreatic secretory capacity in nuclear medicine and GI function tests.
