Trovafloxacin is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, preventing DNA replication and causing bacterial cell death. It demonstrated excellent activity against gram-positive, gram-negative, and anaerobic organisms.
