Acoramidis
A small molecule medication that stabilizes the transthyretin protein, preventing it from misfolding and clumping into harmful amyloid deposits in the heart and nerves. It is used to treat transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy, a progressive condition in which amyloid buildup weakens and stiffens the heart muscle. Taken orally three times daily, it has been shown to slow the progression of the disease and reduce hospitalizations for heart failure.
