Cefoxitin Sodium
The sodium salt preparation of cefoxitin is administered parenterally for infections requiring both aerobic and anaerobic bacterial coverage, as well as perioperative prophylaxis. It shares the cephamycin activity spectrum of the parent compound. Renal function monitoring is necessary as the drug is primarily eliminated by the kidneys.
