Gemifloxacin Mesylate
A mesylate salt form of gemifloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial respiratory infections by inhibiting key enzymes required for bacterial DNA replication. The mesylate salt improves solubility and bioavailability for oral administration. As with all fluoroquinolones, it carries warnings regarding tendon rupture and peripheral neuropathy.
