Potassium Lactate
Potassium lactate is a potassium salt of lactic acid used as an electrolyte supplement and alkalinizing agent that provides both potassium ions for electrolyte replacement and lactate which is metabolized to bicarbonate to correct metabolic acidosis. It is used in electrolyte replacement solutions, as a food preservative, and has been investigated in conditions involving electrolyte imbalances.
