Tirofiban
Tirofiban is a non-peptide glycoprotein IIb/IIIa (αIIbβ3 integrin) receptor antagonist that blocks the binding of fibrinogen, von Willebrand factor, and other adhesive proteins to activated platelet receptors, preventing platelet aggregation and thrombus formation. It is used intravenously in combination with heparin for the management of acute coronary syndromes (unstable angina and NSTEMI) and percutaneous coronary intervention. Its reversible binding and short duration of action allow rapid recovery of platelet function after discontinuation.
