Cefadroxil
A first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis and is used to treat infections caused by susceptible organisms, including streptococcal pharyngitis and skin infections. It has a long half-life that allows for once or twice daily dosing. Hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis, can occur especially in patients allergic to penicillins.

作用机制
Disrupts bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), inhibiting the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis. The resulting cell wall defects cause osmotic instability and bacteriolysis.
