Abemaciclib
An oral targeted cancer therapy that blocks proteins called CDK4 and CDK6, which cancer cells rely on to divide and multiply uncontrollably. It is primarily used in combination with hormonal therapies to treat certain types of hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer. Common side effects include diarrhea, which should be treated promptly, as well as low white blood cell counts that increase infection risk.
