Rezafungin
Rezafungin is a novel long-acting echinocandin antifungal agent that inhibits beta-1,3-D-glucan synthase, an enzyme essential for fungal cell wall biosynthesis, disrupting cell wall integrity and causing osmotic instability and fungal cell death. Its extended half-life allows once-weekly intravenous dosing, distinguishing it from other echinocandins, and it has activity against Candida species including fluconazole-resistant strains and Pneumocystis jirovecii.
