MRP2 (MRP2)

MRP2
Transporters

Multidrug Resistance-Associated Protein 2 (gene: ABCC2), an ATP-dependent efflux transporter expressed on the apical (canalicular) membrane of hepatocytes, renal proximal tubule brush border, and intestinal enterocytes. Mediates biliary excretion of bilirubin glucuronides, drug conjugates, and organic anions. Loss-of-function mutations cause Dubin-Johnson syndrome characterized by conjugated hyperbilirubinemia.

Beispiele

  • Bilirubin glucuronide biliary excretion
  • Methotrexate biliary and renal elimination
  • Dubin-Johnson syndrome from ABCC2 mutations
