Cladribine
A purine nucleoside analog that selectively destroys lymphocytes by accumulating in cells with high deoxycytidine kinase activity and low 5'-nucleotidase activity, disrupting DNA synthesis and repair. It is used for hairy cell leukemia, multiple sclerosis, and other lymphoid malignancies. Profound and prolonged lymphopenia is a characteristic effect requiring careful infectious complication monitoring.
