Sulbactam
A beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects penicillin-type antibiotics from being destroyed by bacterial enzymes, thereby restoring their effectiveness against resistant bacteria. It is used in combination with ampicillin to treat intra-abdominal infections, gynecological infections, and skin infections caused by resistant organisms.
