Turoctocog alfa is a recombinant human coagulation factor VIII (B-domain truncated) used for the prevention and treatment of bleeding episodes in patients with hemophilia A, a hereditary bleeding disorder caused by factor VIII deficiency. It replaces the missing clotting factor, restoring the intrinsic coagulation pathway and enabling normal hemostasis. It is produced by recombinant DNA technology in Chinese hamster ovary cells.

Mechanism of Action

As a recombinant protein, it replicates the function of the naturally occurring human protein, supplementing or replacing deficient endogenous production to restore normal physiological activity.
