Graded Dose-Response
A continuous relationship between drug dose (or concentration) and the magnitude of response in a single biological system, typically plotted as a sigmoidal curve on a log-dose axis. Graded dose-response curves are used to determine potency (EC50), maximal efficacy (Emax), and the slope (Hill coefficient). These curves characterize individual tissue or patient responses and guide dose selection.
Ejemplos
- Dose-response curve of norepinephrine on vascular smooth muscle contraction (force measurement)
- Concentration-response of acetylcholine on isolated guinea pig ileum
- Emax model fitting of antihypertensive drug effects on blood pressure reduction
