Cefepime
A fourth-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that covers a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is used for serious hospital-acquired infections such as pneumonia, bacteremia, and febrile neutropenia. Neurotoxicity, including encephalopathy and seizures, has been reported, particularly in patients with renal impairment.

Mekanisme Kerja
Disrupts bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), inhibiting the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis. The resulting cell wall defects cause osmotic instability and bacteriolysis.
